I hate this… I don’t know why I am so upset over this.

thoughts provoked by the following Times article…

Here’s it:
1. I live by the code, RESPECT.
Respect oneself, respect the people around, respect God and the Nature.
2. Family comes first. Mum’s word’s law. There was a time I rebelled against her. But I guess, as I grow older and older, fighting against her takes too much energy. Besides, she’s always right, somehow.
3. I still survive on pocket money even though I am a working adult.
I am comforted by the thought that I am still a kid receiving pocket money, that I am still reliant on my parents (which is very true anyway) and able to screw everything up and still have my parents and kor to pick up the pieces.
4. I don’t want to be married. Yet I want a handsome Korean husband and 4 cute kids that I can cuddle and run around with.
Weird I know.
5. When I am in my fifties, I wanna be a painter and live a life like a poor artist. Not like begging for food or dressed in rags… more like living simply, in an old but strangle clean and tidy brick house, riding an old rusty bicycle. I am thinking Beijing is probably the place to be. Still, I have yet to travel that expansively so that Beijing might not be that ideal place.
6. I am dying to find my roots (backpacking trip in Ling Bo should be happening this year!)
7. I am probably more Ling-Bo-ese than I think I am. Note, I used to use the word ‘shanghai-ese’ cos everyone can relate to that city, not a place like Ling-Bo. But I guess, being accurate is more important than being understood means more to me now. I am still discovering…
8. I was canned up till Primary 6. if you have noticed those ugly red lines on my arms and legs during P.E., yes, you were right.
9. I wished my mum would have canned me during JC. Perhaps, that would have changed my course of life. *tone of deep regret*
10. I need to sleep 7 hours a day. For fighting wrinkles, brain damage etc. BULLSHIT. I am just lazy.
11. I don’t smoke or drink. Though I wish to taste Soju and Sake and note the difference in taste (is there?).
12. I love dresses to bits! Huge or tiny floral prints, solid colours, retro patterns, polka dots (I still havent found one that I like).
13. I still do not admit that I am a shoe addict. I hunt for shoes… the brands that I check periodically for are Clarks and Ecco. I tend to think twice they are 2 inches and above. I like to take big steps and twist on the spot a lot… high heels hurt, I have two huge corns and that’s enough. I think schroll shoes are comfy though (yes, I am auntie-fied)
14. I somehow managed to change my wallet every 2 months or so. I am going to stick to my current one for the whole of this year *look of feigned determination*
15. I only started wearing watch when I work. The one I wore to run doesn’t count. It is Baby-G btw and I had it since 2004. it is dying now but it had accompanied me through my one half marathon and 2 full marathons. =) my first watch (gotten two days after I started working) is a DKNY. Lots of scratch marks on. I remember kor checking it just 3 days after use and sighed miserably… my second watch is a black digital Casio. Bought in HK. And since then, I AM OFFICIALLY A CASIO FAN! *beams* I am looking out for a metal strap Casio now… =0
16. I hate make-up. Will only go as far as putting masara and lipstick on… but that’s only for special occasions… I might go ‘naked’ on my wedding day… but back-tracking to point erhm, 4, hmmmm…
17. I cant dance for shit… but I love to watch dance performance…
18. I cant sing for shit too…
19. I love the sound systems at the clubs… I wish to have one in my room but I think my neighbours are going to kill me. They are probably already devising a plan now cos my Cambridge speakers are still blasting every night.
20. I have a need to change my room layout every 6 months, replace a desk, add a cupboard, shelve, shift my furniture around… I am thinking of giving away my loft bed and sleep on the floor like the Jap. Still thinking…
21. I once lost control of my fart-holding ability while doing situps in MacRitchie and sent the OLD man next to me bursting into a fit of laughter. And I just realized, I havent gone back since then.

This is with the assumption that you already know me well enough that I day-dream EVERY second of my life, I love vanilla ice-cream, I cannot live without a cup of coffee every day, I get sick every month somehow, I love to run, I love dogs but cant have them cos my mum’s terrified of them, I don’t know how to drive and not planning to learn how to (though my kor’s been toying the idea of getting me a car this year end so I can fetch him when he works late, fat hope boy!), I have random cravings for food…
